Ho! Ho! Ho! And a Merry Christmas from all of us at FINDING THE WILL!
We’ve had a lovely year working with almost 4000 children, and entertaining almost a 1000 people with our show ‘Bard Heads’. Happily there is much more to come in the New Year including visits to primary schools new to us in Wigan, Bristol, Swindon and Peterborough, plus return visits to our old favourites in London, Coventry, Peterborough and Yorkshire. We are also delighted to be returning to Kennel Lane School in Bracknell. This is a Special Educational Needs School which we last visited three years ago with our ‘Macbeth’ workshop.
We would like to send a special thank you to our artist for this year’s Christmas card – Hadeel from Anson Primary School in Brent. You’ve done a great job Hadeel – we love it (and thank you Mr Waters for selecting it and sending it to us). We are looking forward to coming back to Anson to do ‘Hamlet’ with Years 3&4 during Shakespeare Week 2017. That will be a busy week as usual but, with the addition of our new practitioners, this year we will also be able to work at East Wichel Primary School in Swindon – ‘Romeo & Juliet’ is on the cards there!
As for ‘Bard Heads’, well our “sell out” show in Cheltenham last month topped off the year nicely. All six shows in the collection are still available for booking in 2017/18. We shall be returning to Trebah Gardens in Cornwall on 22 July to perform ‘Call Me Oz’ and ‘The Queen’s Speech’ followed by a night at Penlee Park Open Air Theatre near Penzance, where ‘The Third Witch From The Left’ will be making an appearance. Now in case you thought that Richard and I only ‘do Shakespeare’…………….
Oh yes we are! This Christmas we have abandoned the Bard and we are helping to bring the magic of Christmas to the Eden Project in Cornwall http://www.edenproject.com/visit/whats-on/meet-father-christmas-and-his-elves So we are full of Christmas cheer and hugely looking forward to the Big Day and beyond.
Thank you to all our friends, supporters, blog readers, audience members, schools, teachers, TAs, parents and of course children for a superb 2016. Here’s to more of the same in 2017.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
